FileYourTaxes.com CEO Named to ETAAC Security & Privacy Subcommittee
FileYourTaxes.com announced today with pleasure that Timur Taluy, its Cheif Executive Officer has been selected by by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to serve on the Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committee (ETAAC) Security & Privacy Subcommittee. The committee will have representation from the IRS, the industry, ETAAC, states and, and will report its progress and findings to ETAAC.
The IRS and the industry stakeholders have been proactive in the security arena, vigilantly leading and establishing protocols and processes to safeguard taxpayer data in the ever-changing threat environment of electronic data security. It is anticipated that the Working group will undertake efforts to yield solutions to multitudes of fundamental issues concerning both the IRS and the industry.
“Protecting taxpayer data is a responsibility and duty of everyone in the tax community. It will take a combination of electronic and human measures to achieve our goals and I look forward to working with the IRS, States, and other Industry Members to develop best practices that will ultimate benefit the taxpayers” said Taluy.
Eight industry candidates were submitted to IRS by the Council for Electronic Revenue Communication Advancement (CERCA) and three of those candidates were approved selected as industry representatives. The other two are:
- James Robert (Bob) Hubbs, Jr., VP Information Systems, Drake Enterprises, Ltd., and
- Jerry M. Sherwood, Principal Security Strategist for H & R Block.
